Norske Love Painted Wooden Model Ship

The Norske Love (Norwegian Lion) was built in 1765 in the Nyholm shipyard, close to Copenhagen. The ship was named after the Norwegian Lion and the Danish-Norwegian Imperial Coat of Arms. There was a normal crew of 667 men and an armament of 70 cannons of iron with 26 cannons 24 pd. on the lower deck, 26 cannons 18 pd. on the middle deck and 18 cannons 8 pd. on the upper deck. The Norske Love was used as a guard ship in Oeresund and other Danish waters. In 1795, after having been stripped into a block ship, she was used to give shelter for homeless families after the fire in Copenhagen that same year. In 1798 she was deleted from the naval register.

This wooden model ship is 100% hand built from scratch, meaning no kits whatsoever. Completed ship models contain thousands of details created by our skillful master craftsmen. Made of fine wood like Rosewood, Mahogany, Teak and other exotic tropical wood. Chrome and brass fittings and ornaments constitute the excellence of our model ships. Extensive research through original plans and pictures make our models authentic. Each model ship goes through a demanding quality control process before leaving the workshop. Just the perfect gift for home or office decorator, model boat enthusiast or passionate collector.

All of our model ships and boats are handmade from scratch.

They are built by very skillful and experienced craftsmen. They are also built according to the scale of the original full sized ships. We do this through the use of original plans or pictures and use a plank on frame construction method. The hull of our ships are joined by multiple pieces of dry thin wood.

Inside of the hull, we use a special glue that is imported just for this purpose. The glue makes the wood strips stay close together so that they will not split, crack or twist which can happen due to weather changes or humidity changes.

Our models are built completely for raw materials, NOT kits. We recommend that you purchase a display stand for each ship that you purchase to protect it from harm.
